I know I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I was asked to be a faculty teacher at My Creative Classroom. (It is a website offering online classes in all arts and crafts, not just scrapbooking).
Here is a video explaining what My Creative Classroom is all about.
Go to our website www.mycreativeclassroom.com and sign up for the newsletter... When we host our Spring Semester kick off we will be offering a WEEK of FREE classes (only to those on the mailing list!)

Sean's Fav Tree
I posted this photo a while back, but I just got around to scrappin it. I used the Love Elsie papers from the Toby collection and I just love how they make the sepia photo pop. Did I mention how much I love those journaling spots from Prima!! TFL (oh, by the way I got all these goods at K2).

Some Inspiration
I was reading Ali Edwards e-zine yesterday and she mentioned a quote I want to share. It is by Karen Lamb "A year from now you may wish that you had started today."
Love it. Thanks Karen (and Ali) for the inspiration to work on some things I may have procrastinated on!

Crop for a Cure
Join us in a "Crop for a Cure" honoring breast cancer awareness at K2 Scrapbook Studio this Friday from 3 till midnight, then on Saturday from 10-10. It is only 10$ each day (all proceeds go to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation). Make sure you check out the LO gallery in the back of the store...the 8 of us that went to SDV made a special LO for this event (the LO's will stay there for the month of October). My LO is hybrid. The teal 8x8 square I made on the computer and printed it out and attached it to white cardstock, added ribbon, the border is Sassafrass Lass stitches stamps and "life" and the corner swirls are the new Fancy Pants stamps (I got them both at K2). Hybrid LO
As most of you know (that read my blog) I am on the design team for Dragon Flaire Studios as a hybrid designer. I create 4 LO's each month for them. I am assigned 2 kit designers a month and I get to choose a kit from each of them. I then create 2 LO's from each kit. As a hybrid designer I print whatever elements of the digital kit I want then I use them as I would "traditional" scrapbooking items! The cool thing about that is that if I love a paper or an embellishment, I can print it out 5 times!! You do not have to have a 12x12 printer to do this. I print everything out on 8 1/2 x11 papers and cut them up like I would for a normal 12x12 page...this LO just happens to be a 81/2 x 11.
Materials:
cardstock: kraft
patterned paper: red, blue and striped are Stacey Stansom's kit "Spinning Wheels" at www.dragonflairestudios.com
stamps: borders are Fiskars, play hard and circle journaling stamp are Autumn Leaves and "a perfect moment" is Fancy Pants
"r" Basic Grey
rick rack: Wrights
other: staple, ink, black sharpie

ps i love the design of this LO (its simular to the one I made that got picked on 2P's for LOTD), I just keep re using the "template" and just mix up papers and embellishments.

K2 Weekly Blog Challenge
Some of you who read my blog, K2's blog (http://www.k2scrapbookstudio.typepad.com/), Kims blog (http://www.itsallaboutme.typepad.com/), or Jocie's blog (www.jocelynstevens.blogspot.com) knows about our weekly blog challenge. Well, we thought we would mix things up a bit so I made the jar (above) to sit on the counter at the store. Each week you complete a challenge, go into the store and let whoever is working know to put your name into that jar. Around Christmas time we will be drawing a name and they will receive a special prize! (Those beautiful papers I used on the jar are the new American Craft line at K2).

PS If you are from out of town and you complete the challenges, call the store and they will enter your name...if you are local you have to go into the store :)...yeah like that is really hard to do-LOL!!! If you have not been in a while, you are missing out! There is SO MUCH beautiful product I can hardly stand it!

Acrylic Stamp Class
I will be teaching a class on October 13th and 25th at K2 Scrapbook Studio on acrylic stamping. I will tell you the difference between pigment and dye inks, how to use acrylic stamps, how to clean them and all the other "assesories" needed to stamp. We will be making the above page (and you will have enough supplies to make the card too) using all my stamps, then when the class is over you can shop the store for the stamps you like (you get 10% off stamps, inks and blocks the day you take my class). With the class fee you will also receive an awesome book by Autumn Leaves called "Perfectly Clear" with 50 more examples and techniques on how to use your acrylic stamps!! Can't wait to see you there!

My Round Robin LO's
I started the page with the patterned papers (which I sewed on), the tag and the photo...the rest was completed by Jocie and Kim.
I started this one with the patterned paper (behind the photos), the photos and I made the felt tree (which I stamped on the middle layer)...the rest was completed by Megan and Jocie.
I started this page with the patterned papers (that I sewed down) and the photos, the rest was completed by Jocie, Megan and Kim.
I started this LO with the owl transparency, the lined patterned paper, photo, film strip, here's some advice paper, and cardboard...the rest was completed by Kim, Jocie and Megan.
This is how it worked. We had 3 or 4 to our group. You have 10 minutes to start your LO, then pass it to the next person to work on for 10 minutes, then pass it again, then the last 10 minutes you get it back to add any finishing touches (jounaling, etc...)

I think Jocie, Kim and Megan will agree that this was one of the funest times we had scrapbooking while at SDV. Thanks guys for contributing to these fun LO's...can't wait to do it again!!

Off to SDV...
...I am so excited. I am leaving for SDV (scrappers dream vacations) in Orlando, with Kim in a couple of hours. I just finished packing and now I have to do a few last minute things before I leave!! We are going to get to the hotel right at check-in time, so we can unpack and get settled before everyone else arrives. We thought we would take the monorail around (since it stops right in our hotel) and get some good pictures before we have dinner with everyone else. I am looking forward to a LONG weekend filled with scrapbooking, girlfriends, relaxing...a couple glasses of wine...and I am sure some really good laughs. Next time I post it will be with some pictures...

A few new LO's...
I just love this LO of Sean and his mutton snapper...
This photo was taken on Riley's 3rd birthday...(sorry for the glare on the photo) The boat in the pool was the gift he had just gotten from his "Bubbles and PatPat". I had fun doodling and making my own embellishments for this LO!! TFL
